Hello everyone, and welcome to today’s installment of Sunday Sevens, highlighting some trivia from the past week. Sunday Sevens was started by Natalie, over at Threads and Bobbins, and gives a little peek into bits of everyday life that may not call for a whole post. Check it out and see if you’d like to join in, anyone can play!
Two weeks have passed since my last Sunday Sevens post, so here is a little update for you.
Remodeling
The bathroom reno is so close – only little touches remain: the shower door, a towel/robe hook, replacement radiator, vent cover, paper hanger, and glass shelves in brick alcove, all of which will be installed this week. And not a moment too soon, as mom has arrived!
Fold-up shower seat (aren’t we fancy)
Into the “Hobbit” closet
Corner sink
Cat testing
Sewing
A second muslin (from different pattern) created for my floral fabric.
It will have its own post shortly.
Happy Sunday to all, and have a fabulous week!
The bath looks fabulous!!! I am certain you are happy to have things getting back to normal now.

Thank you! Mama is very happy with her new space….still a bit to do, but nothing major. And yes, so nice to finally get the dust cleared out!

I love the bathroom. So sophisticated. Why have you got a bricked in window? Or is it just a frame against a brick wall? What about a mirror? Anyway looking forward to reading about the blouse – nice darting.

Thank you, Kate. We were hoping to make it look like it had been there forever, and it seems to work out that way! The brick is the old kitchen chimney, uncovered when the lathe and plaster came down. It just looked so cool to me – and a great place to put in some shelves. The sink mirror is still a mystery, we’re not sure what we can fit into that corner. Maybe an oval mirror hung at a slant? Hopefully a medicine cabinet (oh, such a teeny tiny one….)
Almost ready to cut the blouse! I promise. 😀

Oh, we love it! Now we’re looking at the upstairs baths thinking they are just a tad shabby in comparison. Uh oh. But I don’t relish the idea of more construction in the immediate future. 😉

The bathroom looks great. I’m sure your mum will be very happy in there. The cat looks as though it’s taken possession!

Thanks, Kim. She does love her new space. Oh, yes, Freida claims everything as her own, but has so graciously allowed mom to move in. Cats!

What a fantastic space you’ve made for your Mum – it’s delightful! I like the little brick feature – it will look super smart with glass shelves in place.

Thanks Lynn! The glass shelves should be in place this afternoon, and as there is a shortage of storage in there (the closet is just big enough for her tiny clothes), they will be very useful. She really likes the little shower seat.

Thank you Abi! We are all very pleased with it. Small, but just the right size for Mama.

Wow, lucky mum! Great use of a corner to put the sink there and I love those tiles. She’ll love it!

Thank you Sheila! She is very happy with it. A little story about the sink….that corner used to be a tiny shelf cabinet. When we broke it out, it was the perfect size for a little sink. So I searched and searched and searched. I kid you not, all the corner sinks that would fit looked like urinals. Yuck. Many tears of frustration. Then we stumbled upon this one; it was a discontinued model and deeply discounted. Score!

Oh my goodness, yes! It was certainly a race to have it ready on time, but we made it – with hours to spare. 😉

Also thought that corner sink just perfect for the space and your decor – such a grand space for your grand mum!

Thanks Del, we really like it, and Mom said that if ever we couldn’t find her, she’d probably be hanging in out in her new bathroom. So it’s a hit!

Oh thanks! It’s almost as if that 1980’s slap-dash version never existed. Haha, I’ll have to look for one of those holders, maybe something in a nice stripe to mimic the shower? So sophisticated. With a pom-pom on top. 😀

The things I love–honeycomb floor tiles, exposed brickwork, light switch cover, and shower seat, ya! I want a shower seat too 😀 While we were renovatiing this old house we had a rental that had a teeny tiny bathroom with a corner sink. Above it was a corner medicine chest, angled the same as the sink. There wasn’t loads of storage space in it, but it did the trick and looked really nice. Nice job. Cheers!

Thank you! We are searching for a little corner medicine chest, now I’m encouraged that we’ll actually be able to find one! 😀

Thank you! It doesn’t remotely resemble the original, does it? The closet and window are the only things that didn’t move.
