Photo Challenge – Path

This week’s photo challenge prompt is PATH. I’ve long fancied a path in my backyard leading to a garden, or perhaps a deck.

The home we bought two years ago has a path in the tiny backyard – quite possibly the most useless path ever built. It begins in the middle of the yard about 30 feet from the house, is about 4 feet long, and leads to a diamond, ending about 6 feet from the back fence. It looks rather like an arrow pointing to nowhere! Perhaps the former owner envisioned a shady secret garden effect…cropped IMG_6729

After letting the garden “be itself” last summer our plan is now to uproot the most of the unruly vegetation, carry the path to a new raised flower or vegetable bed at the fence, fill in the sparse lawn, and reuse the patio pavers to build a small deck at the back door.

A much nicer path is shown in the feature image, taken during a lovely stroll along the Brecon Canal.

    • Ah, beautiful Brecon! The garden is being tidied up for spring now, hoping to get it redone this summer. Fingers crossed we get started soon enough. And thank you, the house is coming right along! 😉
