Sunday Sevens – Week 58

Hello lovelies! Thank goodness for Natalie’s Sunday Sevens or I would have no posts at all, since my sewing is at a temporary standstill! Pop on in to her site to see what it’s all about, it’s fun and maybe you’ll want to join in.

We have been having a grand time showing my mom the sites of Rochester and surrounds. We’ve had guests, and our excursions involve lots of food, shopping, and sightseeing. And walking….she grabs her walker and off we go up and down the street to enjoy the local color.

So here we go with a few pics. Of course there will be trees and clouds, as I just can’t seem to get enough of them.

Strolling Along….

This orange tree up the street had mama walking at a good clip to see it up close and personal.

This is apple country

We were hoping to find some russet apples at Schutt’s Apple Mill, but they won’t be ready for another two weeks, after mom’s visit is over.

The Windmill

We travelled to Penn Yan, where there is a most marvelous farm and craft market, The Windmill. Mom found a beautiful scarf for my sister, and we found (and purchased) more baked goods than any three reasonable people require.

What are these?

What are these?

And hubby bought these….do you know what they are?

Voila!

Voila!

Bread ties!

Happy wanderers

Lovely day, but time to head home….

Skirt-to-be

My sewing plans are on hold for now, but this skirt has all seams and godets sewn, and waistband is basted on. Finished project post is still some way off, so I promise to post a brief update soon…

That’s all folks! Have a great week, and happy stitching!

    • Thank you! She is enjoying her stay very much I’m happy to say. Autumn isn’t so glorious in California these days with the drought, so the rain and greenery and colors have been a welcome relief.

  1. Aw, lovely pics! Bet you’re mum has had a fab time. Your photo of the leaves is beautiful – the sun has just lit up the leaves amazingly! And the clips – I would’ve thought they were some kind of industrial strength pegs! 😃

  2. Oh, those gorgeous fall colors in the northeast! One of these fall seasons, I must drag my honey out there to see it in person; you don’t believe it can be that colorful until you see it it yourself. Looks like you had a fun week and that’s a great pic of you and your mom!

    • Thank you! I never get tired of those colors….just wish they’d stay longer because snow is following close behind. Mama is having a grand time! She’s had a cold, but keeps on keeping on. 🙂

  3. I love the colours too – yellow trees! We just don’t have them over here. I would love to be walking around your neighbourhood with you right now. Stopping for apples and Amish markets. And the bread clips are fun too.
