Hi everyone, here is this week’s Sunday Sevens, a little ode to randomness that doesn’t merit a whole post. For info about Sunday Sevens, please pop in to see the creator, Natalie, over at Threads & Bobbins. There are no real rules, just sharing of seven(ish) pictures. It’s easy and fun, won’t you join us?
This was a rather less productive week than anticipated, but still have a few shots to share with you.
A peaceful start to the day; coffee on the porch, watching the neighborhood waking up. And what is that glistening in the sunlight? It’s a spider web, and the spider is spinning! We watched her run around and around the inner circle of this web (so fascinating and rare). Here she is back at the center. As the morning progressed, the fragile web all but disappeared – it was as if we happened into a most magical secret.
And…..a lively start to another day. I feel good! I knew that would now! Who can come into James Brown’s Place and not start singing? I had a traditional egg and English muffin breakfast which came with home fries – chunky hash browns, with touch of parsley. Hubby had yam and chorizo hash. A bit spicy for me, but it was fabulous! New place for us, a great little diner – not fancy, just great food. Good stuff.
Apron is nearly done. Here is evidence of construction beginning. Must get a move on to finish by end of August. (that would be tomorrow – yikes!)
Tucked away in what may become my sewing room is my mama’s old knitting bag. This bag has been around longer than I have (and that’s a pretty long time). Last time I saw it in use she was crocheting blankets for her little grandchildren (oh, they’re all grown up now). Mama gave it to me when she was downsizing to move in with my sister a couple of years ago. A treasure.
We went to baseball for the first time in a few years. The Rochester Red Wings, farm team for Minnesota Twins. This fellow greets incoming fans.
Good game, Red Wings won handily, and following the game was a very impressive fire works display! Sorry, this picture is pretty smoky.
That’s all for today. Wishing a grand week for everyone!
You did well to capture such a good shot of the web, I’ve tried many a times, but the light hasn’t quite worked. What a lovely, peaceful way to start the week, watching Nature happening around you 🙂

Thank you, it was a stroke of good luck! I’ve never seen a spider in action like that before, certainly did relish the moment!

Thanks! That bag has always been a part of my life, I remember it as a little girl. I’m very lucky to have it with me now.

Beautiful spider web photo! Aren’t those minor league baseball games fun? Love going to the ones here (Tri-Cities Dust Devils), but I couldn’t get anyone to go with me this summer because it’s been so very hot. Enjoy your weekend and good luck getting the apron done!

Thank you, it was fun to catch Ms. Arachnid in action. And yes, it’s fun to be at the “little”, you are so close to everything, and the players interact with fans, especially the youngsters. Apron is progressing nicely, thanks. Trying to do some improv, not sure how well it will go. You will see soon!

What a great set of pictures. I love the baseball glove donkey, the knitting bag, and the spider in her web. And the eating place looks very interesting too. So little time left for your apron!!

Thank you! We did have some fun….and sewing did suffer. Isn’t it funny how we (meaning me) can procrastinate so thoroughly? But I’m forging ahead now!

Great pictures 🙂 I’m looking forward to seeing your apron; the fabrics look beautiful. What a lovely knitting bag too – love something with a little bit of sentimental value.

Thank you! I’m hoping to finish it tomorrow…..and that knitting bag always gives me good memories. Mama lives across the country and is coming to see me in October. I can’t wait!

Thank you! It was quite amazing to watch that spider and my phone did a good job (it doesn’t always cooperate – certainly not operator error) so I was pretty pleased with it. Oh I do love that bag!

Fab pic of the spider! Hope it stayed outdoors! 😳 Took a bit of working out what the horse was made of, at first glance it looked like rusty metal, but then I worked it out. Another great week! 😃

Thanks, and yes thankfully the spider did stay outdoors! The horse is quite the art piece, isn’t he. Lots of people taking pics. Fun (but not overly productive) week. Oops.
