Sunday Sevens – Week 6 for me

Hi everyone, here is this week’s Sunday Sevens, a little ode to randomness that doesn’t merit a whole post. For info about Sunday Sevens, please pop in to see the creator, Natalie, over at Threads & Bobbins. There are no real rules, just sharing of seven(ish) pictures. It’s easy and fun, won’t you join us?

So, here is my sampling from a not-very-active week.

1. The mail came early Saturday morning….the usual blah, blah, blah…except for one little package. It came from England! It came from Ali, of Thimberlina! I was one the six lucky winners of her Gadget Envy Giveaway.wk6_goodies_IMG_46022. This little batch of swatch buddies should help to keep my new sewing habit tidy and organized. I was happy to receive this goody bag along with a sweet handwritten note from Ali. Thank you!

3. It’s not be too legible, but the label calls this a Fabric Storage Bin – they are in medium or large, blue or purple. Found at the grocery store. They are quite nice and sturdy. Would a person who is serious about sewing buy a ready-made bin for fabric?

4. So how does one keep a fat little Buddha happy when driving through downtown in yucky midday traffic? Why, by listening to oldies on the radio, specifically Stray Cats, Rock This Town. The song came on, I was at a stop, and glancing up, this guy just made me smile.

5. The cutest little boys live next door, and the older one is turning 10. He told his parents that this birthday should be special, as he is reaching double digits. They gave him a ball that is taller than me, and certainly higher than the garden fence.

6. My older daughter became engaged! She did receive a real ring, and not a ring pop, but she is camera shy….so nada for now. All I know is that a spring wedding is being planned. Happy Days!

Stitch on, everyone!

    • Thank you, I am terribly excited! It will be somewhat casual event, held in a vineyard near their home in central California. She hasn’t done any dress shopping yet, but hopefully I can be with her. And of course I’ll be making my outfit, so better be getting my skills honed in short order. No pressure. 😉

    • Oh, I didn’t even think of the handwriting from your point of view. It was a very nice sight in my boring mailbox, that’s for sure, similar to my mother’s. Thanks, exciting times indeed! And speedy, could be as soon as 7 months and certainly less than a year.

    • Haha, yes we can all share the Buddha! We picked him up several years ago from a boardwalk vendor at the beach. Oh, the Sundays are fun… can be a challenge to find seven photos sometimes, helps me to be watchful for new little things during the week.

    • Thank you! I’m so looking forward to it! Lots of Buddha’s everywhere! Oh, the beach ball? They also will be transporting it at some point to an upcoming party. Will have to perch it atop their vehicle! Can you imagine? Cameras will be going off all along the roadways.

  1. Just want to add my congrats re your daughters wedding next year! You wont be short of items for Sunday Sevens then! Like your music taste and my daughter took her buddhas with her when she moved out! I will take a look at the Sunday Sevens thingy, when I have something interesting looming???

    • Thank you! Oh, there should be plenty to report, certainly. Hard to beat the old music isn’t it? I often listen to 60s (my era) and was belting out some great hippie anthems the other day, to my husband’s amusement.
I hesitated to join the Sevens….thinking there would nothing to say, but it rather forces me to keep my eyes open for interesting bits in routine days. Go for it! You have a great eye for good photographic moments (yes, I’ve been perusing your lovely travel photos…) 🙂

    • Thank you! We’re all over the moon about it. The ball was the hit of his party I think, little boys scampering and knocking it around. At moment (I just looked out to see) it is all alone in the driveway wafting around in the breeze. They have another party to take it to, then I suspect it’s curtains for rolypoly.

  2. I don’t have a blog , but I follow a few and I’ll be following yours. I too, have returned to sewing after many years. I love your attitude….keep them coming. I may not comment often but I’ll be reading. Keep em coming.
